The Wig Shop

Annie and Susan made it to Betty's Wig store last week and tried on several wigs.  Following are samples that may be in our future. We'll see.

The Natural Look
Susan is convinced, based on discussions with nurses, that she will shave her head rather than let it fall "naturally".

So next up is a trip to Fran's hair shop (N2U in Moline) for the shave on 12 October.  Nurses tell us that in their experience, day 17 following the first chemo treatment is when the hair begins to drop so Susan wants to be "on top" of it.

Natural

After the shave job it's back to Betty's for a fitting of the chosen one or ones.

Today we have a followup with Dr. Sy.  Cheers until the next post!

  3. Susan, you look good no matter which one you're wearing! I wondered if shaving was an option for you. Many people choose to do that rather than wait for the inevitable. Did you see Kelly Pickler do it for a friend going through chemo? What a friend! Anyway, Susan, you're adorable with anyone of those "do's"!

  5. Susan! You are definitely a red-head - Susan Osborne (Mrs. "O") for sure! But I like the last couple of natural ones, too. What can one say after reading all the comments besides "Ditto!". Maybe we should have our glamour shots done again???

I miss you and love you!

  7. Wow! What an opportunity to experiment with new styles and color. My favorite is all of the above but the natural heads the list. I hope you are getting along well with the chemo and will continue to do so. I know there will a few days not as well as others but keep all your 'boys' close by to give you the love and comfort you will need.

  12. Hi Spigg,

It's a tough treatment, but your tougher. I'm glad Roger mentioned your mother leaving for the winter. I always look to see if there is activity at her house when I drive by.
